Merry X-mas
2009 has been a long and very busy year for me, with many changes and a few new starts. I hope that 2010 will be a bit more relaxed.
Anyway, I wish you all a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2010!

Finally! My domain has now moved to a new provider. In an ideal world, you shouldn’t feel or see any difference. However, even in paradise there’s always a snake in the grass, so only time will tell if everything really works.
On other notes, I went to a Mikrotik training last week and this week I am attending my second Cisco training. After that, I’ll take a couple of days off and then have to prepare myself for the CCNA exam.
But more importantly: We now have two dogs! Ryka, a Labrador-Podenco mix, has adopted us. She’s also from Greece, where she was born in the streets and had to survive as a puppy alone in the city. She needs a lot of love and attention, has unlimited amounts of energy and a very lovely and friendly character.

Gustav gets along with her very well, and they make a great team.
Oh, before I forget it: I passed the “Sachkundenachweis” exam that is mandatory in Northrhine-Westphalia if you want to keep dogs that have a shoulder height of more than 40cm and a weight of 20kg or more. And our dogs fall into that category: Gustav is slightly above 40cm and has a current weight of 25kg; Ryka also has 40cm, but only 18kg.
I grew up with dogs around me and have more than 30 years of experience with dogs, but I must say that this exam wasn’t trivial at all. Anyway, I now have the legal right to keep my doggies, and that’s all that matters.
