{"id":5860,"date":"2025-03-10T04:28:35","date_gmt":"2025-03-10T03:28:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wmaus.net\/?p=5860"},"modified":"2025-07-07T12:59:18","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T11:59:18","slug":"internet-housekeeping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wmaus.net\/?p=5860","title":{"rendered":"Internet housekeeping"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A short update:<\/p>\n<p>I cleaned up this blog and removed over 300 personal entries and old rants.<\/p>\n<p>I stopped posting on Medium.<\/p>\n<p>I no longer comment on the Internet and I also do not allow comments under my own content.<\/p>\n<p>I closed my Linkedin account in December 2024 and could no longer access it myself &#8211; but Linkedin being the platform that it is kept <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/winfried-maus-4ab6a42a3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">my profile<\/a> alive and I could not do anything about that. I now revived my account on that platform to regain some control over my profile and my data there, but I severed all of my Linkedin &#8220;connections&#8221; because, let&#8217;s face it, it&#8217;s the worst platform in existence and it serves absolutely no purpose for its users &#8211; only Linkedin the company profits from the user data that it can mine there.<\/p>\n<p>I still maintain <a href=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/@winfriedmaus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">my YouTube channel<\/a>, simply because I am very interested in learning more about video recording and editing and I also care deeply about gaming. I refuse to typecast myself, so I might occasionally also post videos about other topics there.
